Friday
We leave in the morning stopping for coffee and look around Sanders Garden World on our way to the Hotel de la Mer (www.hoteldelamer.co.uk), situated in a brilliant location near the historic Babbacombe Cliff Railway and the Promenade. The hotel prides itself on using seasonal recipes and fresh local produce from Devon, one of the finest farming and fishing places in the world. On arrival at the hotel you’ll be greeted with a welcome cup of tea and orientation speech before dinner and Quiz Night in the bar.
Saturday
Join us on a half day excursion to tranquil Buckfast Abbey and enjoy free time wandering around. Then it’s back to the hotel to taste the delights of Devon with a homemade Devonshire Cream Tea followed by a Tea Dance – time to burn off those extra calories. Dinner is served followed by cash bingo in the bar.
Sunday
Full day excursion to the naval city of Plymouth, tour the historic Barbican, see the Mayflower Steps, enjoy a walk along the elegant seafront onto Plymouth Hoe with it’s unbeatable seaviews, see the National Maritime Aquarium, or browse for gifts for friends and family in the new Drake Circus Shopping Centre with over 60 shops to discover. Then back to the hotel for our 3 course evening meal followed by Peter Baffles Magic and Caberet Show.
Monday
Before we say goodbye, we’ll take a fabulous journey back to the reign of Queen Victoria at the Bygones Museum, and stop off en route back to Bath at Clark’s Village, with more than 90 shops and restaurants, making our way back home after a fabulous weekend break.
