Friday
We leave for Babbacombe in the morning stopping for coffee and a look around Sanders Garden World en route to the Hotel de la Mer (www.hoteldelamer.co.uk) in a brilliant location situated near the historic Babbacombe Cliff Railway and the Promenade offering stunning views across Lyme Bay. On arrival at the hotel, you’ll be greeted with a welcome cup of tea and orientation speech before dinner. The hotel prides itself on using seasonal recipes and fresh local produce from Devon, one of the finest farming and fishing places in the world. This is followed by Quiz Night in the bar.
Saturday
Join us on a half day excursion to tranquil Buckfast Abbey – and then on to the naval city of Plymouth with free time to wander around with the National Maritime Aquarium, restored harbour, beautiful Hoe and varied shops. Tonight, enjoy a Victorian Feast followed by a old time Victorian Cabaret Show.
Sunday
Travel Torbay’s spectacular coast and the beautiful River Dart by steam train from Scenic steam train trip from Paignton along the spectacular Torbay coast to Churston and on through the wooded slopes bordering the Dart estuary to Kingswear. The scenery is superb, with seascapes right across Lyme bay to Portland Bill on clear days. Then onto Dartmouth by passenger ferry and enjoy time at leisure in Dartmouth. Back at the hotel, after our three course evening meal, enjoy a Victorian Magic Show.
Monday
Before we say goodbye, we’ll take a fabulous journey back to the reign of Queen Victoria at the Bygones Museum, and stop off en route back to Bath at Clark’s Village, with more than 90 shops and restaurants before making our way home.
